Garden Planning - Plant Designs - Sourcing - Advice - Project Monitoring
There are a number of stages to be followed if a successful garden is to be designed and constructed, with each stage an essential element in the design process.
The initial visit will be arranged to have a look at the site, discuss any issues involved, aspirations and practical aspects for your garden. Your ideas, including any features you would like to be included, style and planting will be taken into account during this consultation.
Most clients are surprised by how many questions are asked during the visit but this is essential to gain an understanding of your requirements, to produce a coherent design that matches your lifestyle, personality and budget.
Examples of Katrina's work will be available to view from her portfolio.
From the initial consultation, a written quotation for the cost of your garden design will be sent to you together with a contract. If you are satisfied with this, we will request you to return a signed copy to us. We will then arrange to conduct a survey.
A site survey and analysis of the existing garden will be conducted to determine boundaries, buildings, features and measurements. This will include taking photographs. A note will be made of any features and plants that are to be retained. This is to enable an accurate scale drawing to be produced which will be used as a basis for the design.
With the information gained from the site survey, an Outline design proposal (in the form of sketches) is drawn up taking into account your individual requirements. This is the first draft of your garden design and will note any amendments that are required and incorporate any changes to the design.
Planting ideas will be incorporated into the design at this stage.
Following our meeting, the completed design for your garden is drawn up by hand in pen to scale, with colour if requested. This will show the proposed hard and soft landscaping as well as existing features to be retained.
